Over the course of this 16-week structured group (Take it Off 8 weeks/Keep It Off 8 weeks), group participants will learn skills to change eating behaviors and thinking patterns that interfere with weight-loss success. They will develop the necessary skills to lose weight, cope better with cravings, plan nutritious meals and snacks, stop emotional eating, and challenge those thoughts that get in the way of successful weight loss and healthy eating. Participants will also learn stress management skills, problem solving skills, self-monitoring, and mindfulness skills, and how to maintain motivation for lifestyle change. Participants will make an 8-week commitment (Take It Off Group) and may choose to continue with the 8-week Keep It Off session, which will immediately follow.
